Mr. Chinedu Hardy Nwadike has rubbished claims by some
individuals that Imo Contemporary Musicians Association [ICMA] has endorsed
some politicians ahead of next month’s general elections.
Hardy who spoke in Owerri said, “ICMA is not a political
organizational and has not endorsed anyone for any position. I have received
calls from people on this subject and I want to say that it is not true.
“ICMA belongs to the group not just to the president or
entire exco, so if such serious decisions will be taken, the whole house will
be involved. No one has the right to use the name of the association without
notifying the excos.”
Hardy who is the president of the artiste association urged
ICMA members to vote only politicians with clear cut plans.
He took time to enjoin Nigeria youths to avoid being
distracted by the character assassinations politicians have chosen do during
their campaigns but press them to say what they would be offering Nigeria, especially
in the area of ousting corruption, youth empowerment and job creation.
Hardy also said that the executives of Imo Contemporary
Musicians Association is intact and no one is having problems with him.
“I hear things from people who don’t want the association to
stand. People who believe that the success of ICMA means the end of their
selfish plans. They have been enjoying privileges meant for everyone and when
they failed to pocket ICMA, they are now looking for ways to destabilize us.
ICMA is intact and anyone who feels he wants the present
administration to change before the expiration of their tenure knows what to do
with the constitution.
For us here, it’s a brand new year and we are doing
everything possible to make the house stronger.” He added.
